Umoe Advanced Composites has delivered composite pressure vessels for heave compensation systems since 2007. Most new built drill ships and drill semi-submersible rigs use composite pressure vessels from Umoe. The advantages of composite pressure vessels are an approximate weight saving of 40-50% and the pressure vessel does not corrode.
